Catherine’s Poetry

I wrote this poem on Remembrance day, just a few short weeks into my career at a Veteran’s care facility. It was the most profound experiences of my life. It was an honour to witness such pride, pain and valour. They cannot forget and nor should we.

This poem came into being during a writing workshop. It is written from the perspective of the ‘reluctant hero’.

A poem which arose from deep introspection

Do we ever really know who we are?
